Rated 4 out of 5 by from Replacement Replaced same model that was 16 years old. Noticed some changes. Water comes out noisier. Replaced braided stainless steel hose with a rubber one. I hope it holds up as well as the previous one. The brushed nickel finish looks almost like stainless steel.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Easy to use and high quality. Plumber installing had to go get an extra part ($). The only thing we don't love is that the extended nozzle needs a real push to get back in the faucet.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great features I love my new faucet. Hands down, it makes daily cooking easy and was easy to install. I really appreciate the customer service I received with this product. Thank you

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not Satisfied and it's a Waste of Money. The faucet had a modern design. Unfortunately, when I installed the faucet I was surprised the way the Standard Flow of water was very "LOW". I do not know what's wrong with my new faucet.
Date published: 2026-01-25
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Ok for a while, but doesn't last Started out ok, but over time it didn't age well. The cartridge needs replaced repeatedly and only lasts maybe a year before it starts leaking again. The finish (as you can see in the photos) didn't last at all on the venetian bronze finish. The connection to the pull down sprayer is rusting.
Date published: 2026-01-08
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Doesn’t last long Needed a new cartridge after a year. Delta said they would only supply 1 for the life of the faucet. A year later the new one is failing and the screw to remove the handle to replace the $50 cartridge has seized so the faucet need to be replaced. Garbage.

Q&A

i bought the 978-rb-dst kitchen faucet that lists 2 hole 4". Does that mean the center of the holes should be 4" apart? Are both holes to be drilled at 1 3/8" size?

Asked by: Scottie
Thank you for your question, Scottie! The center of the holes on model 978-RB-DST, need to be no less than 4 inches apart. The hole sizes need to be between 1 5/16" - 1 1/2" inches. I have included a link to the Technical Specifications diagram for model 978-RB-DST, for you to refer to. https://media.deltafaucet.com/SpecSheet/dsp-k-978-dst_G.pdf Best Regards, Benjamin

The specs say that this needs two four inch center holes. Can it be 5 inch centers?

When my granite was installed, the installers put my sprayer and the faucet at 5 inch centers. I really like this Leland faucet for my new faucet.
Asked by: CeeCee
Hi CeeCee, Thank you for your question. The 978-RB-DST can be installed on 5" centers. The spray hose will just not be able to extend as far as when installed a 4". Thanks, Dave

I am concerned with flow rate on this faucet. I have found conflicting info on the flow rate. Some sites say 1.8 GPM while others say 2.2 GPM. I want

I want a faucet with at least 2.2GPM or higher.
Asked by: Carly
Hi Carly, Thank you for your question. The model 9178-RB-DST comes with an aerator with a flow rate of 1.8 gpm. You can order RP53998 which is a 2.2 gpm aerator to raise the flow rate for this particular model. None of our pull down faucets come with a flow rate of 2.2 gpm. Thanks, Dave

How do you work the rubber touch clean

Water is flowing slower. Faucet installed by builder
Asked by: Mike
Hi, Mike! Thank you for your question. The rubber nubs can be cleaned by running your finger over the face of the sprayer. If you need to clean the sprayer because of low flow, you can take a solution of 50% white vinegar and 50% water solution and soak the whole sprayer in the solution for an hour or even overnight to clean. We would recommend removing the wand to check for debris as well as performing a flush of the faucet. I have emailed you directly about flushing your model. Will the Delta soap dispenser RP44651SP in Spotshield Stainless match exactly in color the Leland kitchen faucets in Spotshield Stainless?

Asked by: Patty
Thank you for your question, Patty! The PVD process we use in the manufacturing of many of our finished products adds the color to our faucets while also providing superior abrasion resistance. We attempt to minimize variations in color by utilizing certain control methods; however, differences in sizes, shapes and materials of individual faucet parts can occasionally produce slight variations in color that are rarely noticeable to the human eye in certain lighting, despite the controls we have in place. can you shut off with handle in any position with leland 9178-SP-DST?

Asked by: Janice
Thank you for your inquiry, Janice! Thank you for your question. We recommend installing the Delta Leland Pull-Down Kitchen 9178-SP-DST faucet with the handle on the right. You may install it with the handle on the front or left side, but the temperature adjustment will be opposite of the standard operation for single handle faucets. You can compensate for this by swapping the hot and cold supply lines under the sink. However, the red/blue button will no longer indicate the correct temperature. Best regards, Tanya

cleaning sprayer assembly

Mineral build up causing low water pressure. How do I take apart and clean?
Asked by: Penny
Dear Penny, Thank you for your question. We do not recommend disassembling the sprayer assembly. To dissolve any sediment that may collect in the aerator or spray face, just soak the face of the spray assembly in a 50/50 or stronger mixture of white vinegar and tap water for 10 to 15 minutes. The large particles of debris are caught in the bottom end of the spray assembly, where it connects to the hose. Just unscrew the spray assembly from the hose assembly and flush the debris out with water from the hose. Best regards, Tanya
