Rated 4 out of 5 by from Replacement Replaced same model that was 16 years old. Noticed some changes. Water comes out noisier. Replaced braided stainless steel hose with a rubber one. I hope it holds up as well as the previous one. The brushed nickel finish looks almost like stainless steel.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Easy to use and high quality. Plumber installing had to go get an extra part ($). The only thing we don't love is that the extended nozzle needs a real push to get back in the faucet.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great features I love my new faucet. Hands down, it makes daily cooking easy and was easy to install. I really appreciate the customer service I received with this product. Thank you

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not Satisfied and it's a Waste of Money. The faucet had a modern design. Unfortunately, when I installed the faucet I was surprised the way the Standard Flow of water was very "LOW". I do not know what's wrong with my new faucet.
Date published: 2026-01-25
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Ok for a while, but doesn't last Started out ok, but over time it didn't age well. The cartridge needs replaced repeatedly and only lasts maybe a year before it starts leaking again. The finish (as you can see in the photos) didn't last at all on the venetian bronze finish. The connection to the pull down sprayer is rusting.
Date published: 2026-01-08
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Doesn’t last long Needed a new cartridge after a year. Delta said they would only supply 1 for the life of the faucet. A year later the new one is failing and the screw to remove the handle to replace the $50 cartridge has seized so the faucet need to be replaced. Garbage.

What is the difference between stainless steel finish, and artic finish. I am interested in the Leland faucet. Thank you

Asked by: Bosco
Hi Bosco, Thank you for your question. There is a slight difference in the finishes of Artic Stainless and Stainless Steel. Artic Stainless more closely resembles the stainless steel appliances that are available for the kitchens in todays markets. It has a bluish tint to it. Stainless Steel has a golder tone to it and more closely matches finishes in the bathroom. Thanks, Dave

Hello! Does this have an auto-shut off? I don't see any mention of this great feature.

Asked by: jfz9002
Thank you for your question, jfz9002! Model 9178-SP-DST is a standard single handle kitchen pull-down faucet and does not feature a shut off timer. 9178T-SP-DST is the Touch activated version of this model and will shut off after 4 minutes of use. https://www.deltafaucet.com/kitchen/product/9178T-SP-DST Best regards, Edward

We are having a problem with the handle not returning to the full off position. It didn't do this when we first installed it. Now we have to carefully wiggle it back and forth to make sure it is fully off. Is there a way to take apart the main valve?

Asked by: Gayle
Hello, Gayle. Thank you for your question, and I am sorry to hear that you are experiencing a leak from your Delta faucet. We recommend to clean the bottom puck on the valve cartridge assembly and retighten the bonnet nut to stop the leak. To do this, turn the water off at your shut off valve. Remove the handle. Unscrew the bonnet nut counterclockwise. Pull the valve cartridge out and clean the bottom puck on the valve cartridge assembly. Reinstall the valve cartridge assembly and retighten the bonnet by turning clockwise, to the right. Install the handle back on and turn the water back on. Test the faucet. If the faucet still leaks, we recommend to replace both the valve cartridge assembly, RP50587, and the bonnet nut, RP51503. Best Regards, Rosanna

Sprayer

Can you give me instructions for cleaning debris out of the sprayer? The pressure has greatly decreased in just a few weeks and I'm sure it is caused by some debris. I can't seem to get the washer out.
Asked by: Chris
Hi Chris, Thank you for your question. Your model 9178-DST faucet should come with a small t handle wrench to remove the aerator. This wrench comes as a replacement part RP50815. You can soak the aerator and wand in a 50/50 solution of vinegar and water to help break down the mineral build up. Thanks, Dave

Can I order an escutcheon to make this fit a 4 hole sink making the faucet cover 3 holes putting the handle in the 4th hole?

Asked by: Teri
Thank you for your question, Teri! Unfortunately, we do not have an escutcheon for this model. However, you have a couple of options for your installation. You can use this model with two accessories such as a soap/lotion dispenser or hole cover (RP3816, RP52397PC). https://www.deltafaucet.com/kitchen/accessories OR If you are simply looking for a pull-down faucet in the Leland collection, you can use the model 9178-DST instead, which does include a 3 hole plate. Only one accessory would be needed for the 4th hole. https://www.deltafaucet.com/kitchen/product/9178-DST Best regards, Jon

Can you reverse the faucet installation so that the on/off lever is on the left side?

Asked by: Michael
Thank you for your inquiry, Michael! We recommend installing the Delta Linden Pull-Down Kitchen 9178-RB-DST faucet with the handle on the right. You may install it with the handle on the front or left side, but the temperature adjustment will be opposite of the standard operation for single handle faucets. You can compensate for this by swapping the hot and cold supply lines under the sink. However, the red/blue button will no longer indicate the correct temperature. Best regards, Tanya

The water flow has decreased from when I first installed it. It's been in about 6 months. I removed and cleaned the aerator screen but not much in there. A previous post said remove the wand and check for debris. What wand do you mean? How do you flush?

Asked by: PhilM
Hi, PhilM! Thank you for your question, and I am sorry to hear that you are experiencing low flow for your Delta 9178-DST faucet. The wand we are referring to is the retractable sprayer assembly at the spout. This can be removed from the hose and can be soaked in a solution of 50% white vinegar and 50% water to clean any debris that maybe causing the flow issue. Best Regards, Rosanna

It states there needs to be 2 1/2 inch between faucet and backsplash. Does this mean from the center of the faucet to the wall? If there is not 2 1/2 inchs, is there actually problems? Thank you.

Asked by: Curious momma
Hi, Curious momma! Thank you for your question. The recommended clearance to back splash is 2 1/2". This is so there is enough room for installation above the sink as well as underneath the sink. Best Regards, Rosanna

Asked by: Renee
Hi, Renee! Thank you for your question, and I am sorry to hear that you are experiencing a leak from your Delta faucet. There is a bonnet nut that is holding the cartridge down, underneath your handle. We recommend to tighten the bonnet nut to stop the leak. To do this, turn the water off at your shut off valve. Remove the handle. Tighten the bonnet by turning clockwise, to the right. Install the handle back on and turn the water back on. Test the faucet. Reversibility

The staff’s answer to the question of installing the Delta 9178 SS DST backwards so the handle is on the left says the logo will be facing the back. There is no logo showing on the Delta website photo of the faucet. Also, do I assume correctly that this reversibility to the Delta 9178 AR DST as well since the "AR" refers to the finish?
Asked by: JC
Hi JC, Thank you for your question! The 9178-AR-DST ( Arctic Stainless Steel finish) has the Delta name engraved on the bottom of the spout where it swivels. The faucet can be installed with the handle facing the left hand side. Please keep in mind that will change the operation of the handle. Best regards, Brandis

Soap dispenser leaks from the spout. How can I fix this?

I did not install this faucet, it was in place when I bought my apartment but looks fairly new and the faucet works like a charm! However the soap dispenser needs to be pumped 4-5 times for soap to come out (the bottle is full of soap) and then after dispensing, it slowly leaks onto the sink. How can this be fixed? Thank you!
Asked by: Marin
Hi Marin, We are sorry that you are experiencing a problem with your soap dispenser. It sounds like the pump assembly is not working properly. Unfortunately the pump assembly is not available as a separate item. The entire RP50813 soap dispenser will need to be replaced. Thanks, Dave

the multi use wrench which is supplied with the faucet is the only tool you will need for installation. if you install the faucet before the sink is set in place you will have an easier time installing the faucet with or w/o the wrench.
