Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful faucet Bought this beautiful faucet to go with a new sink and countertops. Wen the countertops were installed at first was unsure of my decision , but the moment the faucet was installed I loved it ! The faucet is y favorite part of the kitchen remodel so far. My granddaughter saw it she is 10 and said" Nana I want this in my house ". Didn't say a word about the countertops.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from dripping faucet I have had my faucet for one week now and the faucet drips unless you find the sweet spot and adjust it there. It's a process to turn it off and to remember to wait and set it where needed so it doesn't drip. The other issue I'm having with this faucet is when you pull the sprayer out, the inside of that part is dripping and spurting out water as if it's not tight enough, but that's how it came. Thinking about returning it, but what a hassle to take it apart and install another one.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quality construction The Delta 9178-SP-DST has been a jfine addition to our kitchen. The control lever and spout swivel smoothly. The steady stream, and spray work nicely as well as the shield spray which creates a strong spray to remove stuck on foods without making a mess.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Disappointed in the quality We bought this a little over a month ago. Had it installed by a plumber. Like the style and features. But it is very sensitive when turning it off. If you are not careful to move it to an exact spot, it drips. Have never had this problem with a faucet before. Should be able to just push it up and it turns off. But istead you have to push it up and then a little forward to get it off. Would never put this faucet in a house with children. Afraid it would be dripping a lot. For the price $$$$, I expected better. Very disappointed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Customer service makes it 5 stars The faucet itself needs to be repaired every 2 years or so, have had this model in my kitchen for close to 10 years now, I have had to replace the spray head a few times, as well as this thing is prone to leaking from normal wear, so new seats and springs under the lever need to be replaced - easy repair. The latest problem involved a stuck set screw on the handle, so Delta sent out the entire handle assembly replacement. Every time I call customer service they are happy to provide new replacement parts, all under warranty, money well spent on a quality product that the manufacturer stands behind.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Issue Resolved We were initially very happy with this faucet, however, once installed the faucet dripped constantly. We contacted Delta directly and a replacement valve cartridge was promptly shipped to us. The new valve cartridge solved the issue. The prompt service from Delta was much appreciated. If we had received a faucet without a faulty valve cartridge we would have given it 5 stars as we are very happy with it otherwise.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Sprayer sucks I bought this faucet about a year ago and the water flow from the sprayer has slowed . I removed the sprayer and opened the water to see if maybe there was a problem in the line but water pressure is good . I also cleaned the filter on the sprayer with no improvement.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love, Love, Love This Faucet We did a lot of research on water flow because our other faucet by another company (that we bought just for looks in 2008) was horrible. We had always bought Delta faucets. We have never had a problem with Delta faucets, their customer service, warranty department, and products. So after researching all they had out there in pull down chrome faucets, we bought this one. ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC! We are in our 50's so we miss the no regulation water flow. But with the restrictions, this one has plenty of flow. We highly recommend it. THE SHIELD SPRAY FEATURE IS AMAZING! You don't need a scrubber to get stuck on food off of plates! We love the style of this faucet. The handle is beautiful and easy to use. No little stick on the side like on others to turn the water on and off. The Magna Tite feature is amazing. Holds it in place. With a little turn the strong magnets depolarize and the spray pulls down with ease. Thank you Delta for continuing to make great products!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just Like Products Used To Be Made By Companies We had a similar type kitchen faucet installed a few years ago during a kitchen remodel. Not a good experience with what I thought was a good product by a good company. How can I put this? Leaks and valve problems probably 18 months in that continued until I gave up on it. At my age I want a rugged heavy duty faucet that gets the job done. This is not a prissy faucet. It is a rugged, well made product that flows water at a very good pressure, in all modes. So far so good. If you want a well made faucet that does what you bought it for this is the one and it looks good at your sink.

If we need a stream that hard we will just use a sponge to get the food off the plate. But other people may love it. But the regular flow and spray are great which is what we were looking for. Plus the style is so nice. Handle is beautiful and easy to use. No little stick on the side like on others to turn the water on and off. The Magna Tite feature is amazing. Holds it in place. Rated 1 out of 5 by from Extremely disappointed I bought this faucet in December and installed it in January. I have been in my home for 44 years and have had to replace faucets several times. Never have I been so disappointed in a faucet. It looks pretty enough, and it fit what I had wanted as far as style, but the flow is disgusting. While waiting for my sink to fill so I can wash dishes, I can vacuum the entire kitchen. Any motivation to decrease the flow in faucets, if that's really how Delta plans to answer my complaints, has likely been done by humans, who don't have the day-to-day responsibilities of cooking, washing, cleaning. Reduced flow does not save water. It wastes my time!!!!! I was also very disappointed in the previous reviews and wonder if they are done by people, who don't actually use this faucet.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice faucet I had this installed a couple of weeks ago to replace my old kitchen faucet. I loved the style of my old one (Victorian) but it kept having to be repaired. I researched new kitchen faucets and this was one of the top ones. I like the pull down sprayer. It is easy to use and clicks back into place securely. You do have to jiggle the faucet a bit to get the excess water out of the neck after using the sprayer, otherwise the faucet drips. The finish is pretty (arctic stainless) but I need to keep it wiped dry to prevent spotting. If it does have water dry on it, the spotting cleans up easily. The only problem I have is getting used to the handle. There is not much leeway between the hot and cold settings and getting it to come out "warm" is a little tricky. I'm sure it's just a matter of getting used to it. Also, having the handle on the side of the base of the faucet, you are pushing the it to the right to turn it on and pushing it left (to the vertical position) to turn it off. For 30 years I have had a faucet handle that goes up and down - not side to side. I find myself wanting to pull it forward to turn it off. Again, something I just have to adjust to. The big advertised feature of this faucet is the Shield Spray, but I haven't had a reason to use it yet. It works fine, I just don't seem to need it. I'm hoping that this faucet will last me for years to come and not need to have a drip fixed every couple of years.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I LOVE this faucet! I love this faucet, but I have had some issues. I love how this faucet works. Operation has always been smooth. The magnetite system actually works. The sprayer is great. The soap dispenser is well ok, but it matches. It was very easy to install. I purchased this 9/14/2014. Up until the past 6 months I have had no complaints. Now it is becoming increasingly difficult to shut off. As another reviewer stated, you have to put the water on full; handle straight up. Then pull straight down quickly. If you hit it just right, the water stops. If you are just a little off, it will continue to drip and sometimes pour. I contacted delta and they sent me a replacement part within a week at no cost to me! WOW, a company that actually stands by their products. Customer service as it should be; absolutely zero hassle. I could not have been more impressed. Would I recommend it? Yes, because of Delta customer service, absolutely. I'm only giving it four stars because the handle cartridge started to fail after four and a half years. I've had other Delta products that are still going strong after fifteen plus years. I really do love this faucet. Thank you Delta.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Aerator water pressure issues. I bought this on Amazon late Sept 2018 based on reviews. It was installed early October. In just six months, I'm facing aerator issues. Water pressure both cold and hot drop significantly at times. On disconnecting the faucet head from the wand hose I get full water pressure. I've used the aerator wrench and removed the aerator several times to wash and replace it. There wasn't much particulate matter so I find it odd that water pressure drops so much. The head assembly is not user serviceable though it has 3 spray mechanisms built in.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love the design I've had this faucet for a couple of weeks now and just love it! The shield spray feature is great and the pull down sprayer creates much less splatter than my old sprayer.

I would like to take off the faucet head because it has begun to spray - I assume build up is inside the head. I see the little piece you can push in but it doesn't want to come apart from the hose easily. Is there a trick to take the head off?

Asked by: Christy
Hello Chritsy, Thank you for your inquiry! The wand/sprayer assembly of the Delta Leland Pull-Down Kitchen 978-AR-DST faucet, an be remove by simply unscrewing it from the end of the hose assembly. This should be done by hand only. Best regards, Tanya

The spec indicates a min clearance of 2.5 inches from center of hole for faucet to backsplash. I only have 2 inches.  Why is 2.5 inches needed since the handle goes forward and not back? Will 2 inches work?

Asked by: Bridget
Thank you for your question, Bridget! The minimum clearance to the back splash is typically suggested for lavatory models with lift rods or for models where the handle does reach backwards. This is still suggested for maximum comfort and ease of use with the handle; however this model can still work with only 2". Best regards, Edward

I see where you have answered the question about the difference between Model 9178 and 9678. What is the difference between those and Model 19978?

Asked by: Kathy61
Hello Kathy 61, Thank you for your question. The Delta Leland Pull-Down 19978-SS-DST faucet is a Home Depot exclusive model and it is similar to the Leland 9178-AR-DST faucet. However, the 9178-AR-DST is designed with the ShieldSpray feature and the 19978-SS-DST model is not. https://media.deltafaucet.com/SpecSheet/DSP-K-19978-SD-DST%20Rev%20C.pdf Best regards, Tanya

What is the tubing for the pull-out spray made of? I am concerned about the materials as the drinking water is now being consumed from this spray.

Does arctic stainless water spot?

Asked by: Melody
Hi, Melody! Thank you for your question. The 9178-AR-DST Arctic Stainless will show water spots. We recommend to wipe clean with a soft towel. If you should need something stronger, we recommend 50% white vinegar and 50% water solution to clean. Best Regards, Rosanna
