Rated 4 out of 5 by from Replacement Replaced same model that was 16 years old. Noticed some changes. Water comes out noisier. Replaced braided stainless steel hose with a rubber one. I hope it holds up as well as the previous one. The brushed nickel finish looks almost like stainless steel.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Easy to use and high quality. Plumber installing had to go get an extra part ($). The only thing we don't love is that the extended nozzle needs a real push to get back in the faucet.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great features I love my new faucet. Hands down, it makes daily cooking easy and was easy to install. I really appreciate the customer service I received with this product. Thank you

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not Satisfied and it's a Waste of Money. The faucet had a modern design. Unfortunately, when I installed the faucet I was surprised the way the Standard Flow of water was very "LOW". I do not know what's wrong with my new faucet.
Date published: 2026-01-25
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Ok for a while, but doesn't last Started out ok, but over time it didn't age well. The cartridge needs replaced repeatedly and only lasts maybe a year before it starts leaking again. The finish (as you can see in the photos) didn't last at all on the venetian bronze finish. The connection to the pull down sprayer is rusting.
Date published: 2026-01-08
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Doesn’t last long Needed a new cartridge after a year. Delta said they would only supply 1 for the life of the faucet. A year later the new one is failing and the screw to remove the handle to replace the $50 cartridge has seized so the faucet need to be replaced. Garbage.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from This is trash This is absolute trash. I can't believe you sell this crap. It never shuts off and it drips. This should last us forever. We are the original owners of the house. Delta fix it!

Is there a visible difference between Artic Stainless and Spotshield Stainless finishes? Is there a difference in care or durability?

what is the purpose of the red plastic slide switch at the top of the valve assembly?

Asked by: jerry
Hi, Jerry! Thank you for your question. The switch on the valve assembly is a handle limit stop. Position 1, to the left, allows full handle motion (the full range between “all cold” to “all hot”). The faucet is set in position 1 in the factory. Position 2, to the right, allows half of the normal handle motion (“all cold” to “mixed hot/cold”). The handle limit stop can be adjusted by the homeowner once the faucet is installed. Setting the handle limit stop in position 2 may help to prevent scalding because it limits the amount of hot water in the mix; however, this handle limit stop will not always prevent scalding because it does not compensate for incoming pressure or sudden water temperature changes. To change positions of the handle limit stop: remove the handle; move the valve stem to the all cold position so the water is on; change the position of the handle limit stop; turn off the water; reinstall the handle. Best Regards, Rosanna

Regarding handle placement and the meaning of 'front' If I'm standing at the sink, is front closer to me and under the spout? Installing on an island where clearance is not a factor, can the handle be in the back, opposite the sink side?

Asked by: lhlin
Thank you for your question, LHLIN! The handle placement in "front" would refer to being under the spout and closest to the user. For an installation where clearance does not matter, you can install this model with the handle facing to the back since the spout swivels 360 degrees. Best regards, Edward

installation on a mica countertop w/farm sink

How far back from a farm sink would be a safe installation for this faucet on brand new mica counter tops?
Asked by: new kitchen
new kitchen, Thank you for your question. The spout extends 9 1/4" from the center of the faucet to the center of the aerator and we advise to allow 2 1/2" clearance to the backsplash. However, it is up to you to decide where to install the faucet in your installation. Please refer to the Technical Specifications for more measurements. https://media.deltafaucet.com/SpecSheet/DSP-K-19978-SD-DST%20Rev%20D.pdf Best regards, Jon

Does this have to be mounted 4" apart or is 5 or 6" possible?

Asked by: Mary
Dear Mary, Thank you for your question. The Delta Leland Kitchen faucet 978-WE-DST model has the 4" installation requirement for the outstanding reach of the 59" hose assembly. Installing the the handle and faucet 5" or 6" apart would effect the reach of the hose assembly. Best regards, Tanya

We will have Frigidaire's Gallery series stainless steel appliances in our kitchen. Will Delta's Arctic Stainless or Spotshield Stainless finish match better?

Asked by: agolin
Hi Agolin, Thank you for your question. There is a slight difference between the Delta Faucet SpotShield Stainless Steel finish and the Arctic Stainless finish. The SpotShield Stainless Steel has a spot-resistant neutral, low-gloss finish. The Arctic Stainless has a blue tint to it and more closely matches stainless steel appliances out in the market today. It is only used in the kitchen. Best regards, Tanya

Our faucet is almost 10 years old, and it is hard to keep the faucet from dripping.  We have to try a few times and get the on/off mechanism in just the right place for the dripping to stop.  What kind of repair might this faucet need?  Thanks in advance.

Venetian Bronze Color

Does the Venetian Bronze faucet coordinate with oil rubbed bronze cabinet hardware?
Asked by: Sophie
Hello Sophie, Thanks for your question! It's always a good idea to take the cabinet hardware and other accessories to a Delta Faucet showroom to see if your chosen hardware will match the faucet and vice versa. The color of the hardware will ultimately depend on the manufacturer, so we couldn't say if it would definitely match. However, Venetian Bronze would probably match an oil rubbed bronze finish, but whether or not it looks good together is ultimately up to you. I hope this helps!

what is difference between 9978 model and 978 model?

I need the Leland single hand pull down faucet (2 holes) in the brilliant stainless. I've seen both the 978 model as well as 9978...are these different?
Asked by: WWA
Hello WWA, Thank you for your question! The 9978-DST is a bar/prep faucet generally used in smaller side sinks. As a result, the faucet itself is much smaller than the 978-DST, which is the regular kitchen sink faucet. You can take a look at each faucet's Technical Specifications for further details. I hope this helps!

Does this faucet have any lead in it?

Asked by: Aimee
Hi, Thank you for contacting us. We apologize for any inconvenience. We are more than happy to help you. Brass has a decades-long history of successful use in plumbing applications. I read most of the answers to the questions. If the handle assembly is metal, what material is inside ? Is this product considered a middle quality

or is this still low - end quality? How much price range do I set to look for a middle quality for single handle pull down/pull out kitchen faucet? How often do I change the washer? I didn't buy this yet. I am checking your homepage to see which one I would like to buy.
Asked by: haru chan
Hello Haru Chan, Thank you for your questions. The internal cartridge for this faucet is manufactured with plastic, but it is a high quality of plastic. The rest of the material this Delta faucet is made with is also of high quality material. Best Regards, Courtney

Asked by: lefty
Hi Lefty, We appreciate your interest in Delta faucets. All Delta faucets feature the same quality parts, materials, and workmanship, no matter what kind of dealer sells them. The website shows the product at list price. Dealers purchase the product in bulk for selling it readily to consumers, so they are able to offer a much lower price. However, the quality of all Delta faucets are the same. Best regards, Tanya

Is it possible to increase GPM?

The response was RP514780RB, but is it really RP51480RB? Is replacing that part all that is needed? Is there a need to replace the O ring as well? I want to order a new faucet and will have it professionally installed, so want to be sure i order all the necessary parts. Thank you!

Asked by: Rich
Hi, Rich! We appreciate your interest in Delta faucets. All Delta faucets feature the same quality parts, materials, and workmanship, no matter what kind of dealer sells them. Delta retail dealers usually sell faucets that include the handles in the boxes. Plumbing professionals and Delta Studio Showrooms sell faucets where the faucets and handles are packaged and sold separately ("LHP" models), giving the customer some additional styling choices. However, the quality of all Delta faucets is the same. Best Regards, Rosanna

Does the Model # 9178-AR-DST come with a cover/escutcheon?

I see where a previous questioner was told that the stainless steel (SS) model comes with an escutcheon. But, does the Arctic Steel as well? I read a review of the Model # 9178-AR-DST on an authorized retailer's site that complained that their AR did NOT come with the escutcheon, which I believe is a cover that sits at the base of the faucet, to cover any additional holes used by a previously-installed faucet. The photograph of the faucet does NOT show such a cover. Thank you!
