Rated 4 out of 5 by from Replacement Replaced same model that was 16 years old. Noticed some changes. Water comes out noisier. Replaced braided stainless steel hose with a rubber one. I hope it holds up as well as the previous one. The brushed nickel finish looks almost like stainless steel.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Easy to use and high quality. Plumber installing had to go get an extra part ($). The only thing we don't love is that the extended nozzle needs a real push to get back in the faucet.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great features I love my new faucet. Hands down, it makes daily cooking easy and was easy to install. I really appreciate the customer service I received with this product. Thank you

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not Satisfied and it's a Waste of Money. The faucet had a modern design. Unfortunately, when I installed the faucet I was surprised the way the Standard Flow of water was very "LOW". I do not know what's wrong with my new faucet.
Date published: 2026-01-25
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Ok for a while, but doesn't last Started out ok, but over time it didn't age well. The cartridge needs replaced repeatedly and only lasts maybe a year before it starts leaking again. The finish (as you can see in the photos) didn't last at all on the venetian bronze finish. The connection to the pull down sprayer is rusting.
Date published: 2026-01-08
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Doesn’t last long Needed a new cartridge after a year. Delta said they would only supply 1 for the life of the faucet. A year later the new one is failing and the screw to remove the handle to replace the $50 cartridge has seized so the faucet need to be replaced. Garbage.

Q&A

How far does the handle push back?

We are installing this in a small bar area. The faucet will sit fairly close to the wall. I want to make sure that we'll be able to fully adjust the water temperature without the handle hitting the wall behind it. Thanks.
Asked by: dinomomma
Hi dinomomma, Thank you for your question. The recommended minimum clearance to the backsplash/wall for model 9678-AR-DST is 2-1/2" from the faucet center/center of mounting hole to the wall. The handle at max hot temperature only extends approximately 1/2" past the base of the faucet. Thanks, Dave

Could you use this in a sink with 3 holes and purchase a soap dispenser for the 3rd hole ?

Asked by: Jill
Hi Jill, Thank you for your question. You can purchase a soap dispenser to fill the 3rd hole. Our RP50813RB soap dispenser coordinates with the Leland faucet collection. Thanks, Dave

Please give me advantages and disadvantages of the "Touch-Clean" spray holes?

Am I guessing that you can flex a rubber disk with holes in it to knock off water deposits? And is this disk less likely to last as long as a metal aperture plate? And is this disk replaceable by homeowner, or do I have to buy a whole new faucet?
Asked by: RiverCityKen
Dear RiverCityKen, Thank you for your inquiry! The wand assembly of the Delta Leland Pull-Down Kitchen 9178-SP-DST faucet has the Touch-Clean feature. This simply means you can rub your fingers over the nubs of the spray nozzle for cleaning. The design of the product makes removing deposits easier. Best regards, Tanya

what size garden hose aerator adapter should i buy?   i need to hook an aquarium garden hose to the faucet head.  13/16 does not fit.  its too small.

Asked by: tanya101
Hello tanya101! Thank you for your question. We only offer one aerator adapter, RP51505. This adapter converts 21.5X 1-6 g metric thread to 55/64”-27 standard thread. Your aerator, RP50815 has M21.5 threads, however care should be taken as we have not tested and do not recommend using this adapter with the pullout or pulldown spray wands. https://www.deltafaucet.com/parts-product-detail?modelNumber=RP51505 Best regards, Edward

I have the delta 9178-AR-DST kitchen faucet. It was already installed when i moved in. The faucet base moves too freely and thespout moves completely all the way around. Is this normal? I was not left with the wrench that came with this to tighten any nut

Asked by: George
Hi, George! Thank you for your question. The Delta 9178-AR-DST faucet spout does swivel 360 degrees. The base assembly should not move. We do recommend to seal the escutcheon plate (base assembly) with silicon sealant to the sink or counter to secure this. Best Regards, Rosanna

What is the difference between arctic stainless and spot clean stainless?

Asked by: MB2013
Hi, MB2013! Thank you for your question. Arctic Stainless is a brushed finish like Stainless Steel. Over the years, the color of stainless steel used on appliances and sinks has migrated from warmer tones, with more red in the color spectrum, to lighter tones where blue is more predominant. Arctic Stainless features cooler metallic tones, following a trend seen throughout the kitchen. SpotShield Stainless is a spot-resistant, warm, low-gloss finish with warmer tones, similar to brushed nickel. Best Regards, Rosanna

Is there a matching filtered water tap?

I am looking for a recommendation of a separate water tap for filtered water that matches the "Arctic Stainless" finish. What would you recommend?
Asked by: Anne
Thank you for your question. Delta Faucet offers two different styles of beverage faucets in the Artic Stainless finish. Delta Faucet model # 1914-AR-DST is a tradtional faucet and Delta Faucet model # 1977-AR-DST is a transitional faucet.

Asked by: Wednesday
Thank you for your question, Wednesday! We apologize for any confusion and are happy to clarify. Looks like there is a swivel at base of faucet. So do you pull the handle out for on, toward you for cold and away from you for hot? How much clearance do you need at the back to turn hot fully on so the handle doesnt hit wall or backsplash behind it.

Asked by: GAGG
Hi, GGGA! Thank you for your question. The Delta 9178-AR-DST Faucet swivels 360 degrees at the high arc spout. The handle turns on and away from the faucet for cold and the handle turns back for hot water. We recommend a minimum 2 1/2" (64 mm) clearance to back splash. Best Regards, Rosanna

How do I get into the faucet to adjust the gear-like piece that adjusts the temperature? The water gets scalding hot.

All our other faucets in our house don't get as hot as our kitchen. The cold water never really gets that cold either.
Asked by: Charlotte
Hi Charlotte, Thank you for your question. To adjust the Handle Limit Stop, remove the red/blue button, loosen the set screw with an 1/8" Allen wrench, and pull off the handle. The red switch on the top of the cartridge can be flipped to the right to limit the range of the handle on the hot side. While this can be done without turning off the water supply, we recommend to turn them before disassembling the faucet. Best regards, Jon

What is the difference between the "Arctic Stainless" and "Stainless" finish? Are both products made of stainless steel? Is one more durable?

Asked by: alevine
Hi Alevine, Thank you for your question. The Artic stainless finish will have a blue tint to it, while the stainless steel will have a gold tint. Both finishes are durable and warrantied for the life of the faucet to the original purchaser. The faucets are finished in stainless steel, not made of stainless. Thanks, Dave
