Rated 4 out of 5 by from Replacement Replaced same model that was 16 years old. Noticed some changes. Water comes out noisier. Replaced braided stainless steel hose with a rubber one. I hope it holds up as well as the previous one. The brushed nickel finish looks almost like stainless steel.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Easy to use and high quality. Plumber installing had to go get an extra part ($). The only thing we don't love is that the extended nozzle needs a real push to get back in the faucet.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great features I love my new faucet. Hands down, it makes daily cooking easy and was easy to install. I really appreciate the customer service I received with this product. Thank you

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not Satisfied and it's a Waste of Money. The faucet had a modern design. Unfortunately, when I installed the faucet I was surprised the way the Standard Flow of water was very "LOW". I do not know what's wrong with my new faucet.
Date published: 2026-01-25
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Ok for a while, but doesn't last Started out ok, but over time it didn't age well. The cartridge needs replaced repeatedly and only lasts maybe a year before it starts leaking again. The finish (as you can see in the photos) didn't last at all on the venetian bronze finish. The connection to the pull down sprayer is rusting.
Date published: 2026-01-08
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Doesn’t last long Needed a new cartridge after a year. Delta said they would only supply 1 for the life of the faucet. A year later the new one is failing and the screw to remove the handle to replace the $50 cartridge has seized so the faucet need to be replaced. Garbage.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from This is trash This is absolute trash. I can't believe you sell this crap. It never shuts off and it drips. This should last us forever. We are the original owners of the house. Delta fix it!

Q&A

What parts are needed for a sinkage hole installation?

We installed this faucet with a base plate to cover pre-drilled holes. We are remodeling with granite countertops and want a single hole installation. We no longer have the box or other parts. What do we need to install this properly? Is an adapter needed?
Asked by: Kristin
the multi use wrench which is supplied with the faucet is the only tool you will need for installation. if you install the faucet before the sink is set in place you will have an easier time installing the faucet with or w/o the wrench.

Does the screen come off so you can clean out the little flecks of rust?
Asked by: Kim
Hi Kim, Thank you for your question. The cache aerator on the wand of your model 9178-DST is removeable. The faucet shipped with a small blue t-shaped wrench that will help unscrew the aerator. If you do not have the wrench it can be orderd as RP50815. http://www.deltafaucet.com/repairparts/details/rp50815.html Thanks, Dave

Models 978-DST and 16970-SD-DST.  Minimum distance (from faucet center) to backsplash is 2.5 inches.  Max radius of faucet is 1-3/16 in.  Is the 2.5 inch minimum for installation or could a distance as small as ~ 1-1/2 inches to the backsplash suffice?

Asked by: Paul
Hi Paul, Thanks so much for contacting Delta Faucet Company! The LELAND® Pull-Down Kitchen Faucet MODEL#: 978-DST and the KATE® Pull-Down Kitchen Faucet MODEL#: 16970-SD-DST both require a minimum of 2 1/2" (64 mm) clearance to the back splash. Asked by: Bill

We only have the 9178-SP-DST for a little over a month and the water pressure seems to have greatly decreased on all 3 positions. What is causing our problem?

Asked by: Mag309
Hello Mag309, Thank you for your question! We apologize for the low flow you are experiencing and I am happy to assist you! Debris is usually the main cause of low flow on a Delta faucet. We recommend flushing the supply lines and valve, as well as soaking the wand head in a 50/50 solution of white vinegar and water. Please contact us back with any further questions. I have had thiendelta leland pull down kitchen faucet for about 3 months and am experiencing low water flow pressure and reduced stream. It was fine when first installed. Spray function works fine. How can I clean the head. We have well water.

Asked by: Bernice
Hi Bernice, Thank you for contacting Delta Faucet Company! Please accept our sincere apology for the inconvenience you are experiencing. Here is what we can do to resolve your issue for you. Low flow is caused by a blockage or debris, we would recommend flushing the Delta Faucet Leland® Single Handle Pull-Down Kitchen Faucet With Soap Dispenser In Chrome MODEL#: 978-SD-DST. Please shut water supplies off before starting this process, also grab a towel, and a bucket. To flush the unit, we recommend the following: Start with the easy stuff: Remove your aerator, wand or hose to check the flow through the unit without that part installed. If the flow is good, the piece you’ve removed is where the issue is. Soaking the part in a 50/50 mixture of white vinegar and water could help remove any particles or debris blocking the flow. If the water does not have a good flow, the problem could be in the faucet. Next, check the supply lines for debris: Turn the supply off to both the hot and cold-water lines. Once off, turn the handle on the faucet to the on position and leave it there to bleed the lines of any excess water. Next, disconnect the hot water supply line and place it inside a bucket. Once the line is securely positioned into the bucket, turn on the cold-water supply. Thank you for being a loyal Delta Faucet customer. We appreciate your business and look forward to continuing to serve you. Please contact us back with any further questions. Best Regards, Nicole
